A practical alternative to a skip

Show us what needs to go and we will plan the clearance

Rubbish does not always appear in a neat pile beside the road. It may be upstairs, spread between a garage and garden, left after a move or mixed with furniture that is too awkward to carry alone.

DJS Moves prices the actual job. We look at the type and amount of material, where it is stored, parking and access, then agree what will be collected before the team arrives. You do not need to hire a skip, arrange a road permit or do the loading yourself.

Photos make quoting much easier.
A few clear pictures of the items, the route out and any steps or restricted access can save an unnecessary visit.

Clearance work we can quote for

From one awkward item to a larger clear-out

Household rubbish

Bagged waste, unwanted belongings, broken furniture and bulky household items that cannot go in the normal bin collection.

Garden and outdoor waste

Branches, hedge cuttings, bagged green waste, old planters, damaged garden furniture and mixed material from an outdoor tidy-up.

Moving and tenancy clearances

Items left behind before completion, after tenants have moved out or while a property is being prepared for sale or re-letting.

Garages, sheds and lofts

Stored clutter, old tools, timber, boxes and bulky items cleared from spaces where access can make the work harder than expected.

Commercial clearances

Office furniture, packaging and non-hazardous business waste, with the job arranged around access, building rules and working hours.

One-off collections

A single bulky item, several bags or a small mixed load can still be worth asking about. Send a photo and postcode for a sensible answer.

How the service works

A quote based on the job, not a vague promise

1

Send the details

Tell us what you need removed, the collection postcode and where the items are kept. Add photos if you can.

2

Confirm the scope

We check the waste type, likely volume, access and timing. Larger or less clear jobs may need a visit before pricing.

3

Clear and load

The team collects the agreed items and handles the carrying and loading, including from inside where this has been arranged.

4

Remove responsibly

The load is taken away through the correct waste route. We will not leave it at an unlicensed site or pass it to an unknown carrier.

DJS Moves holds a dedicated waste carrier licence. This matters because householders and businesses should only hand waste to somebody authorised to take it.
Where your rubbish goes matters

A clearance should not create a fly-tipping problem

When waste is taken away from your home or workplace, it still needs to be handled lawfully. Using an authorised carrier helps protect you from the risk of your rubbish being dumped illegally and traced back to your property.

Commercial waste also carries record-keeping duties. Tell us when the load comes from a business, rental property, renovation or trade activity so the right information can be recorded and any specialist disposal can be identified before collection.

Read the government guidance on using a private waste collector.

Before we confirm a collection

Tell us exactly what is in the load

Different materials have different disposal rules and charges. A clear description avoids surprises when the team arrives.

Local clearance coverage

Serving homes and businesses across the South

DJS Moves can quote for rubbish removal throughout West Sussex and for suitable jobs across Surrey and Hampshire. Availability and price depend on the load, access and travel involved.

Clearing rubbish as part of a move?

Tell us before the removal date. Unwanted furniture and rubbish need a different disposal route from the belongings going to your new address, so they should be identified and priced separately.

This is especially useful when a garage, loft, shed or spare room has been left until late in the packing process.

Tell us what needs clearing

Give us enough detail to understand the load and access. Photos are particularly useful for mixed rubbish, bulky items and garden waste.

Common questions

Rubbish removal FAQs

Do I need to put everything outside before collection?
Not necessarily. DJS Moves can quote to carry agreed items from inside a home, garage, loft, shed or workplace. Tell us about stairs, narrow doorways, lifts, long paths and parking when you enquire.
How is a rubbish removal quote worked out?
The main factors are the type and amount of waste, weight, loading time, access, travel and disposal charges. Clear photos help us judge the load, although larger or mixed clearances may need a visit.
Can you clear rubbish while moving my home or business?
Yes, provided it is arranged in advance. Waste must be kept separate from belongings being moved to the new address and is priced as a separate service because it follows a different route after collection.
Do you remove garden waste?
DJS Moves can quote for branches, hedge cuttings, bagged green waste, old garden furniture and mixed outdoor rubbish. Soil, rubble, chemicals and other specialist materials must be identified before the collection is agreed.
Can you take electrical items, fridges or mattresses?
These items may have separate disposal charges or routes, so list them individually and include a photo. We will confirm what can be accepted and include any relevant charge in the quote.
Why should I use a licensed waste carrier?
Householders and businesses should check that the person taking their waste is authorised. This reduces the risk of it being fly-tipped or handled unlawfully. DJS Moves holds a dedicated waste carrier licence.
Which areas do you cover?
The main service area is West Sussex, with suitable collections also considered across Surrey and Hampshire. Send the collection postcode with your enquiry so travel and availability can be checked.
