I honestly cannot recommend DJS enough! As a new company doing rubbish clearance I took a risk asking someone I was unfamiliar with as I know we all worry about fly tipping but I’m so glad I did! Dan and his helper Alfie were amazing. I had a nightmare move where my new house purchase didn’t complete on the same day as my house sale. I found myself with all my belongings needing to go into storage over the weekend and then move again on Monday. Dan and Alfie didn’t bat an eyelid when the goods needed to go to a new location last minute. They worked non stop, taking care with my things, late into the evening until the job was done. Hard recommend.
Dan was an absolute star. We had a challenging move from England to Northern Ireland in the middle of storm Floris and he proactively amended his plans as conditions changed (including which ferry to take, and moving our possessions between trucks!) in order to ensure he made the crossing on the scheduled date. He was professional and communicative throughout the process so we always knew what was going on, even when arrival timings were slightly delayed due to circumstances outside anyone's control. We would definitely use his services again, and would highly recommend him to anyone else moving house.
Moving To Pulborough?
You’ve got good, proper, countryside living without being miles from anywhere. The station is handy for getting to London, Brighton, Chichester and Bognor Regis, which is genuinely useful if you work somewhere (Brighton station is 45 minutes) or just don’t fancy being stuck for places to go on the weekend. Ten minutes to Storrington if you need more shops, Arundel with its castle and indie shops 20 minutes, and you’re on the coast within half an hour.
There’s enough in the village itself that you’re not always running to the car for everything. There’s a Waitrose in nearby Storrington for the big supermarket shops, but you’ve also got a Co-op plus a butcher and bakery in Pulborough itself. Good primary school, doctors’ surgery, a couple of decent pubs. RSPB Pulborough Brooks right on your doorstep if that’s your thing, and you’re right on the border of the South Downs National Park so can access walking routes in all directions.
Housing is a mix of period cottages in the conservation area to newer family houses around the station. Gardens are generally quite nice and big, and you get views across the Arun Valley from parts of the village. It’s the sort of place where people actually know their neighbours, which apparently is a rarity these days.
